Research Visits

Non-members wishing to undertake research in Cowra Family History Group Library are asked to arrange an appointment. Please either write or send an email to the group including your contact details.

Visiting research fee for a half day is $15 and a full day is $25. For short visits there is a minimum fee of $5. The visiting research fees do not include computer printouts, newspaper microfilm printing or photocopying. Computer printouts are 30c each page.

Newspaper microfilm printing and photocopying are paid to the Cowra Library front desk. Newspaper Microfilm printing is 50c each page. Photocopying is 20c for A3/A4 black and white and $1 for A3/A4 colour.

Research Enquiries

Cowra Family History Group will undertake written enquiries for a fee of $30 for the initial request and first hour research for members and non-members. No research will be undertaken before the receipt of the fee and the signed research request form agreeing to our terms and conditions.

Payment can be paid either by:-

  1. Cheque/money order to Cowra Family Group Inc., P.O. Box 495, Cowra NSW 2794;
  2. Bank Transfer; or
  3. Paypal.

Research Service Fee

Cost: $30 per family name, eg: Mr & Mrs Ford and children, “Ford” being the family name. This fee covers a search of all the Cowra Family History Group Inc., genealogical resources. Please note that this fee is non-refundable, and covers research time, not results. We cannot guarantee that your questions will be answered but will make every effort to do so.

Please provide as much relevant information as possible (e.g. maiden names, children’s names) to avoid us duplicating your research.

Research may take 2 or 6 weeks, depending on the number of enquiries received and the availability of the research team.

Cowra Migrant Accommodation Centre (1945-1958)

The Cowra Family History Group Inc., holds very limited resources on the Migrant Centre. The main resource is the photographic Pardey Collection No. 2. The photographs cover the timeframe of August 1949 to April 1956. The index is researchable on our website.

There are over 450 photographs in this collection which relate to the Cowra Migrant Centre.
